Did you know BELLA+CANVAS actually started in the industry as the first apparel brand to create and offer true-fitting women’s styles? Decades ago, our founders, Danny and Marco, recognized that no other company offered specific products designed for women in the wholesale market. From that moment, inspiring women to look and feel their best has been the foundation of our DNA. Our brand started by doing things a little differently, which is why very day since then, we’ve lived out our motto to BE DIFFERENT through continuing to support women’s initiatives. One of those efforts was teaming up with Girls Build L.A. for their very first Girls Build Leadership Summit. Girls Build L.A. is an initiative born out of the nonprofit organization L.A. Promise Fund that gives young women in Los Angeles public schools the opportunity to effect social change.

Girls Build Leadership Summit

The Girls Build Leadership Summit was a full day event at the L.A. Convention Center where 10,000 girls gathered for inspiring speeches about leadership and female empowerment. Some of the guest speakers included Hillary Clinton and California Senator Kamala Harris. We had the pleasure of joining the incredible young women and were able to learn more about the differences they are making in their communities. We also donated 10,000 of our tees, which were printed by our good friends at Shirt Agency, so the girls had a special memento to take home from the event.
