A Little Triblend History
Triblend fabrics entered the wholesale market nearly a decade ago, and just about everyone took note – especially fashion savvy customers. When we launched our triblend collection, we took a risk because we weren’t totally sure that a budget-savvy industry would opt for pricier, higher-quality tees. Lucky for us, the risk was totally worth it, and customers and businesses were jumping at the opportunity to purchase high-end, great-fitting tees. With that said, we doubled down on triblends, and today, with 24 styles and 30 shades, we couldn’t be happier with what we have to offer.
What IS Triblend?
A blend of three types of yarn (50% polyester, 25% cotton, and 25% rayon), triblends boast the comfort of cotton, durability of polyester, and the luxurious drape of rayon, which was initially created as a substitute for silk. BELLA+CANVAS triblend tees are knit together with a 40 single needle (the higher the single, the softer the tee), and then undergo a special finishing treatment. The result? The softest, most luxurious tees in the industry.
Let’s Talk Color of Triblends
And when it comes to color, we’ve perfected vibrancy and texture to a tee (literally!). We experiment regularly with different colors and combinations, creating lab dip after lab dip, making tiny tweaks to our renowned formula until the color is just right. To create that coveted heather look, the fabrics work together with the dye. Polyester, a synthetic fabric, absorbs a different type of dye than cotton and rayon, which results in a textured, dual-colored dye.
Innovation of Triblends
Not a fan of the textured look triblends are known for? We covered that, too. In true BELLA+CANVAS fashion, we brought the softness of triblend to solid shades as well, engineering the first-ever solid triblend on the market. It was no easy feat because various yarns take dyes so differently, but the resulting solid black, white, dark grey, and navy took the industry by storm.
Triblends + You
Today, triblend fabrics are becoming more and more popular. Super-soft and perfectly relaxed, triblend tees have become a blogger staple, camera-ready favorite, and a street style essential. Oh, and did we mention they’re perfect for working out too since they’re ultra-breathable? Win!
If you’re looking to elevate your brand, impress a client, or just rock a tee that’s soft, breathable, and perfectly relaxed, opt for triblend to take your style game up a notch. Find the perfect BELLA+CANVAS style here and check out the video below:

I like a lot of what you are doing with Canvas, but I’m concerned about synthetic microfiber pollution, so I have been avoiding buying clothing containing synthetic fibers, particularly acrylic and polyester. Have you done any studies or looked into how much microfiber shedding your Triblends do in the wash?
BELLA+CANVAS
Hi Ruth!
Great question! Synthetic yarns don’t typically shed in a washing environment as it’s a manmade synthetic fiber and has very little debris transfer. Saving our natural resources of cotton is a bigger concern for us which is another reason to stick with Triblends!
